President's Message

The Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka is the premier professional medical association in Sri Lanka committed to promoting information and communication technology within the health sector. Since its humble beginning in 1998, HISSL has grown from strength to strength.

The most significant of HISSLs achievements is its successful collaboration with the University of Colombo to initiate an MSc course in Biomedical Informatics in 2007. It is now producing the essential manpower that is required to spearhead the development of ICT in the health sector in Sri Lanka.

HISSL is not only for doctors, it is in fact the only professional medical association in Sri Lanka that has non doctors among its membership. I invite other categories of health care professionals as well as non health care professionals involved in ICT in the health sector to become members of HISSL to contribute to the promotion of eHealth in Sri Lanka.
