President's Message

It gives me enormous pleasure as the fourth President of the Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka to give this message to the HISSL web.

In HISSL we have an inclusive policy of Medical and IT personnel with the object of promoting the best outcome from this integrated professional approach. This field has developed to a high degree of finesse elsewhere and I am happy to inform you that the first MSc in Biomedical informatics is being started by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine under my Directorship. This is being supported by the University of Oslo, Norway.

We encourage doctors and IT professionals to come to a common platform and share views to develop the use of IT techniques in health care for service , education , information exchange and research.
